A Short Bio

 

Ann Hoste has designed costumes for a variety of professional theaters around the country including Great Lakes Theatre Festival (Amadeus), Zachary Scott Theatre Center (Quilters), Central Missouri Repertory (The Miser) and Muni First Stage (Tomato Plant Girl). A two-time recipient of the Idaho Commission on the Arts Fellowship for excellence in the arts, Ann designs regularly for several Idaho companies: Company of Fools (The Tempest), Idaho Repertory Theatre (Much Ado About Nothing), Boise Contemporary Theater (Fuddy Meers), Idaho Shakespeare Festival (King Henry IV), and Idaho Dance Theater.

Over the years, Ann has received awards and fellowships from KC/ACTF, the Idaho Arts Commission and The Austin Circle of Theatres.  She received her MFA in design from the University of Texas at Austin in 1984 and has studied with renowned designers Patricia Zippordt, Susan Benson and Ming Cho Lee. She is a member of United Scenic Artists, the union of professional costume designers, and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees.
